Abstract
Backgroun: There have been many efforts to reduce the side effects of corticosteroid increasing their efficacy at the same time. Prednicarbate is one of the most effective and newly developed topical corticosteroid with strong potency without side effects.
Methods & Results: We have assessed the clinical efficacy and safety of 0.25% prednicarbate in 640 atopy patients. Comparing clinical improvements in the patients before and after 4 weeks topical treatments with 0.25% prednicarbate, remarkable improvements were noticed in reducing erythema, itching, lichenification, oozing, hypertrophy, crust and vesicle formation clinically. Overall drug satisfaction was excellent in 46.8% and good in 44.6% of the patients. Only one patient experienced redness and burning, which improved after quitting application. This drug was tolerable in 98.2% of the patients.
Summary: We think topical prednicarbate 0.25% is very effective and safe drug to treat atopic dermatitis.
